About

Hi It’s me Hazel Main with yet another blog offering. This time I’m trying to raise awareness about Bill C-22 and why ordinary Canadians like you and I have got to hold the Canadian Senates feet to the fire to ensure they complete this bill.

Bill C22 has been scrapped. Not because of lack of support, rather by a process called
Prorogation that expunges any unresolved bills at the close of the Parliamentary session.

Rose Derochers threw down the gauntlet to me, and every able Canadian who can pick up a pen, lick a stamp or hit “send” on their portable devices can make a difference to the exploited children here, and abroad.

The bill can be resurrected when parliament reconvenes for the next session On October 16, 2007 . Rose advises her readership, “The only hope to seeing ‘The Age of Protection Act’ brought forward again is to call upon our Members of Parliament to support Bill-C-22 and see it be reinstated at its previous position before Parliament was prorogued.”

Its the previous position that is especially important here. This last session lasted from April till now. The bill being prorogued would have to start making the rounds again from the beginning. What Rose is suggesting us that it gets picked up at the where it left off, at the Senate level. This is the most efficient way to proceed.

Rose has called on all of us Canadians to help ensure this bill gets passed as soon as is possible for the sake of the kids. You can help by contacting Contact your Members of Parliament in support of the reinstatement of Bill C-22 The Age of Protection Act.
