Is it a coincidence that the only Canadians to be charged under the newest anti-sex tourism legislation  are from the same geographical area as the Pickton family and Clifford Olsen?

I don’t believe in coincidences.  I believe in cause and effect.  The past twenty or so years has been a heyday for pedo’s in this province.  Every child one of these sick freaks take has been refused to be taken seriously, otherwise how can we justify the numbers?  We’ve become the fifth largest producer of child porn on the global stage.  Imagine that, Canadian children are being exploited at such a rate that their images are sent all over the world as travel brochures. Every image of child pornography is the image of a child being destroyed.

Some of us have grown up, escaped the street life, avoided jail and drugs.  Some of us want a normal family life and want to forget the past.  Some of us can’t have children because of the damage done to our tiny bodies, and when that realization hits? Then what?  Then we or I should say I will do everything in my power to keep your precious babies safe.

The crisis this nation is facing has been silenced for too long.

Canada’s Shame 

The government has retabled violent crime bills including Bill C-22 as Bill C-2.

The numbers indicate where on the list the bills sit.  As you can guess last time the age of protection legislation was titled Bill C-22.  Now as Bill C-2 perhaps, just perhaps it will be passed by the end of the current parliamentary session.

I’m still concerned though because in the past incarnation of the Age of Protection Act, it was a bill standing on its own.  Now, as part of Bil C-2 its become one of many crime bills.  So if there is a problem with any of the other proposed bills, what might happen to the age of protection act?  Scuttled again?

The Tackling Violent Crime bill, Bill C-2, brings back to life a series of bills that were stalled in the last session of Parliament and then killed when Harper prorogued the session.

The sweeping piece of legislation combines bills that would stiffen penalties for impaired driving, raise the age of sexual consent to 16 from 14, impose stricter bail conditions for those who commit crimes with guns, and also impose mandatory prison terms for gun crimes.

And calls on the opposition party to discontinue stalling his minority government’s criminal justice agenda, including Bill C-22.

Of the 44 new bills tabled during the 39th session, 13 bills including C-22 are focused on Law and Order.

By December 2006 9 of the bills introduced by Harpers government had been given the “Royal Ascent”, and made law.

These included four on money bills, one amendment to the Elections Act, another was to approve funds for agriculture.

In response to Stephen Harper’s comments Liberal MP Sue Barnes claimed her party is offering to fast-track many of the bills. Ms. Barnes also sits in the justice committee and add’s, “I think reasonable bills will be supported by all of us in opposition.”

The following chart shows which bills were facing heavy Liberal opposition. It appears Bill C-22 was not one of those heavily opposed bills. What happened? The conservative gov’t tabled it, the MP’s endorsed it, The people supported it, and the Liberals did not oppose it why is it not law yet?

Canadian judge releases American sex offender

A U.S. judge sentenced Watson, 35, to three years of probation for a sexual act involving a 15-year-old girl. Under the terms of a plea bargain, Watson is allowed to serve out the sentence while living in St. Catharines, Ont.

The federal government wants Watson sent back to the U.S.

“Obviously, like most Canadians, we’re outraged, but we are extremely limited when it comes to legal options,” (Stephen) Harper told reporters on Friday afternoon in Oakville, Ont.

In New York state, the age of consent for male-female sexual relations is 17.

LANSDOWNE (Staff) — A U.S. trucker travelling across the Thousand Islands Bridge faces child pornography charges after being stopped by Canada customs officers Thursday.
Officers with the Canada Border Services Agency searched the truck and discovered a laptop computer and compact disc containing what they believed to be graphic images of child sexual abuse, according to a release from the OPP Child Pornography (Project P) Section.
As a result of the initial investigation, members of the OPP’s Project ‘P’ unit out of the Leeds County detachment attended the scene and seized the computer and compact disc.
Glenn Allan Viefhaus, 41, of Indianapolis, Indiana was charged with one count of possessing child pornography and one count of importing child pornography.Viefhaus was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The investigation is continuing.

I have. I know a couple hundred of my readers over at Hazel8500 have thanks to my WordPress Stats widgets. By watching the news over the past year as I have, I know the cops have too.

Experts, advocates, and international NGO’s agree Canada’s age of consent laws are too vague, too low, and too difficult to enforce allowing Canada to become a haven for pedophiles and child sex tourism.

But is Parliament listening?

For nearly a decade there has been a steady public outcry over the lack of justice afforded our children when raped, exploited, or “turned out”. Stockholm Declaration and Agenda for Action in 1996 opened the eyes of the global community to the vastness of child sexual exploitation around the world.

Bill C-22 was the long awaited and Canadian legislative tool intended to fight child sexual exploitation and to stem the burgeoning child sex tourism trade in Canada.

Riddle me this Parliament Hill: How Do You Sleep At Night?

Bill C22 has been scrapped. Not because of lack of support, rather by a process called
Prorogation that expunges any unresolved bills at the close of the Parliamentary session.

Bill C-22 was tabled during the 39th Canadian Parliament April 3 2006 to October 19 2007.

MP’s from all over the country have provided petitions signed by constituents during every session of the 39th Parliament asking for the government to step it up and get the bill passed ASAP. MP’s passionately declared their support for the bill. A few pointed fingers at each other over whose to blame over not having this simple, key piece of legislation implemented prior to summer break.

Despite the inter parliamentary drama as recorded by Hansard, Bill C-22 came to a pitiful halt after three successful bids through the system only to be expunged by the senate.

Out of 16 Tabled Bills , 6 failed to pass including Bill C-22, a bill that would have provided protection for children from exploitation, while not criminalizing sexual relationships among a generous peer group of five years. This would have also addressed the health concerns raised over the past decade over teen’s reluctance to use sexual health services due to fears of exposing their older lover’s to prosecution. The Bill failed however to put anal and vaginal sex on parity. Anal sex would have remained an illegal activity until both parties reached the age of 18, So no change there.

Canada has one of the lowest ages of consent in the developed world, recent in depth and independent studies have confirmed what police have been increasingly reporting over the past few years: Canada is a Haven for International Pedophiles.Page 11.

Furthermore, a growing number of Canadians are traveling abroad to engage in the sexual exploitation of children. Canada is a source country for sex tourists, but some evidence suggests that men from abroad, particularly from the United States are also traveling to Canada to take advantage of the country’s low age of sexual consent.
Many child rights advocates argue that Canada’s low age of consent strongly contributes to an environment of risk for children.
